The author eagerly anticipates participating in a discussion with fellow Philadelphia photographers featured in Dr. Deborah Willis’ publication “Reflections in Black: 25th Anniversary Edition: A Reframing.” This event will take place at the Barnes Foundation on Sunday, December 14 at 1:00 p.m., co-sponsored by Temple University’s Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection.
Maria Porges reviews Wendel A. White’s exhibition at Rena Bransten Gallery in May 2025 for Artforum, highlighting his decades-long focus on the construction of race in the U.S. The exhibition showcased works from two of his significant projects, illustrating his exploration of race through recorded and transformed material traces.
